We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Google. As a key member of our data center operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical System Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center electrical systems, including generators, UPS systems, and electrical distribution systems.
- Facilities Operations: Operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions, including heating and cooling systems, power supply, and control and monitoring systems.
- Emergency Response: Manage data center performance issues and outages to minimize recovery time from failures.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with contractors and other teams to ensure seamless maintenance and upgrade work on data center systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop creative approaches to reducing operational costs while improving overall data center efficiency.
- Education and Experience: Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field, plus 5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or controls/automation in an industrial/commercial environment.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of electrical systems, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, and meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment.
- Communication and Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively with contractors and other teams to ensure seamless maintenance and upgrade work on data center systems.
