WorkwithYork is actively seeking a qualified Capital Projects Officer to oversee the execution of projects within the client's Planned and Cyclical Investment Programme for Building Services.
In this role, you will collaborate with a team to manage building projects, which includes responsibilities such as procurement, site oversight, budget control, and contract management. You will maintain consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle, engaging in site visits and progress meetings with Contractors, Surveyors, Architects, and Structural Engineers.
Our client is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable individual who is passionate about both traditional and innovative construction methods and applications within the built environment, as well as familiar with British Standards and Building Regulations.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- HNC in Building Studies or a related field (NQF level 5) or equivalent experience
- Proficient understanding of Contract Administration and various Forms of Contract
- In-depth knowledge and experience with CDM regulations
- Preferably a solid grasp of asset management in social housing contexts
- Technical expertise in building repair, renovation, and modernization, including the ability to draft specifications for materials and quality installation standards
This position is initially temporary for a duration of three months, with the possibility of extension. The compensation rate is competitive, based on experience.
