About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Investigator Scientist to join our team at the Medical Research Council. The successful candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics and machine learning, with a proven track record of research in these areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on developing models for biological age prediction from multiple image-derived phenotypes
  • Perform semi-independent research and support other members of the group
  • Lead on lab data management duties and liaise with collaborators on project management
  • Attend scientific conferences and publish results in leading journals
Requirements
  • PhD in Data Science/Statistics or a closely related discipline
  • Significant postdoctoral research experience in bioinformatics
  • Excellent skills in R and Python, with proven ability in programming and handling large datasets
  • Previous experience of executing Jupyter Notebooks in local or cloud environments
  • Previous experience in biomedical data science, including clustering and prediction algorithms
