Accounts and Audit Operations Manager

- Maintain regular communication with the team, clients, HMRC, and other professional advisors.
- Manage all aspects of audit and accounts assignments, including:
- Planning of jobs
- Budget management
- Effective time management
- Delegating tasks and supervising team members
- Monitoring team progress and managing projects
- Conducting detailed file reviews and providing constructive feedback to the team
- Reviewing corporation tax computations and collaborating with Tax Specialists
- Finalizing files for Partner review, including corporation tax calculations
- Submitting necessary documents to HMRC and Companies House
- Promote the firm’s interests among employees, clients, prospective clients, and other third parties.
- Motivate and encourage team members, offering timely and constructive feedback.
- Oversee and mentor trainees throughout their training contracts, providing assistance as needed.
- Support the motivation and supervision of staff, particularly trainees.
- Assist staff in securing suitable work to ensure full engagement, while also facilitating their development and progress.
- Contribute to in-house training initiatives.
- Provide upward feedback to enhance team performance.
- Participate in client gatherings or seminars on an ad hoc basis.
- Identify opportunities for account development with clients and work with partners to progress these.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of pitches for new clients.
- Offer innovative ideas to enhance existing systems related to client or staff matters.
- Assist with billing processes.
- Support debt collection efforts in coordination with client partners where appropriate.
- Possess a relevant Accounting Qualification such as ACA or ACCA or an equivalent international qualification.
- Experience in managing both personnel and a portfolio.
- Current portfolio should include a minimum of 40% audit work.
- Strong understanding of corporate tax regulations.
- High familiarity with UK auditing and accounting standards.
- Commercially aware with the ability to communicate technical knowledge clearly and effectively.
- Experience in auditing Professional Services or Real Estate & Construction sectors.
- Proficient in both substantive and controls-based audits, group reporting, and cross-border groups.
- Expertise in delivering primary accounting frameworks (UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102, and IFRS).
- Commitment to exceptional client care and service.
- Dedication to continuous professional development and maintaining technical competence.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback effectively.
- Strong time management and deadline adherence skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
