Lead EC&I Engineer in Nuclear Sector

Westlakes Recruit is currently seeking a Senior EC&I Engineer with a robust background in the nuclear sector on a contractual basis. This role offers a hybrid working model.

Position Overview

  • Accountable for the delivery of Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) design and engineering for specific area systems. This includes the generation of design documentation and the review of work produced by other engineers and designers.
  • Responsible for liaising with construction teams to address Technical Queries (TQ's), Product Proposals (PP's), and concessions.
  • Coordinate with construction and commissioning teams to manage Field Observation Reports (FOB's) and defect notifications.
  • Act as the design representative during plant inspections, snagging processes, and general assessments.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Possess a minimum of HND or equivalent qualification (Essential).
  • A degree in a relevant field is preferable.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering nuclear EC&I design within a similar role or environment, with recent exposure to the nuclear industry.
  • A proactive individual with strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in leading the delivery of engineering packages, including familiarity with EC&I deliverables.
  • Proficient in producing approved written documentation, such as technical specifications and reports.
  • Knowledgeable in applying relevant standards and practices in a pragmatic manner.

Additional Skills

  • Experience in evaluating design to ensure its suitability concerning design processes, rigor, and functionality.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with client organizations to foster a cooperative approach to design assurance.
  • Competence in chairing and managing meetings.
