Position Overview

Westlakes Recruit is seeking a Senior EC&I Engineer with a strong background in the nuclear industry for a contractual opportunity. This role offers a hybrid working model and is focused on delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of electrical, control, and instrumentation design for specific systems, ensuring comprehensive documentation is produced and reviewed.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to address technical queries and manage concessions effectively.
  • Engage with construction and commissioning teams to resolve field observation reports and defect notifications.
  • Act as the design representative during plant inspections, walk-downs, and snagging processes.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of HND or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • A degree in a relevant field is preferable.
  • Proven experience in nuclear EC&I design within a similar role, with recent exposure to the nuclear sector.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong communication, analytical, and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience in leading engineering packages, including familiarity with EC&I deliverables.
  • Ability to produce approved technical documentation, such as specifications and reports.
  • Pragmatic approach to applying relevant standards and practices.
  • Experience in evaluating design to ensure its suitability regarding process, rigor, and functionality.
  • Collaborative experience working with client organizations to enhance design assurance.
  • Capability to lead and facilitate meetings effectively.
