  • Dietary Adaptation: Adapt menus and recipes to accommodate the specific dietary needs of residents, including those with allergies or special dietary restrictions.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of food items.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with care staff to understand and meet the needs of residents.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of food temperatures, deliveries, and inventory.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a cook in care settings such as care homes, residential homes, or nurseries.
  • Dietary Knowledge: Knowledge of dietary needs and nutrition, particularly for elderly residents and young children.
  • Food Safety: Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Certifications: Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above) and a valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
