Job Title: Development Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Development Engineer to join our team at Terry Parris Associates. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing power supply products and associated equipment.


Main Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise with Engineers: Collaborate with our engineering team to review customer specifications and understand required unit performance.
  2. Design and Development: Develop and modify conversion products and associated equipment to meet agreed specifications.
  3. Prototyping and Testing: Design and build breadboards and prototypes to investigate new design techniques and test developed designs.
  4. Documentation: Accurately document designs to enable full manufacturing packages to be created or amended.
  5. Quality Assurance: Confirm that developed designs meet their requirements through testing and/or simulation and calculation.
  6. Project Management: Meet agreed time-scales for tasks and projects.
  7. Compliance: Ensure products comply with current legal and regulatory requirements.
  8. Sustainability: Optimize product life cycle duration and ensure products are energy efficient and have minimal environmental impact.
  9. Ownership and Support: Assume ownership of assigned projects from conception to completion and provide continued support while in service.
  10. Quality and Safety: Adhere to the Company's ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systems and contribute towards continuous improvement.

Requirements:
  1. Qualifications: HNC, HND, degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
  2. Experience: Some experience in power supply development, preferably with experience of high voltage, analogue, digital and architecture system design.
  3. Skills: Knowledge of up-to-date components, technology and manufacturing techniques, and ability to follow formal design procedures and methodologies.
  4. Software and Tools: Proficient in MS Office and schematic capture using CADSTAR desirable.
  5. Personal Qualities: Effective interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision.
