The IoT Solution Engineer's role is to support Bell's IoT product development activity in hardware specification and testing, R&D, and early-stage customer IoT projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and test IoT hardware suitable for Bell's IoT solutions.
- Develop a 'Bell's IoT certified' device program for IoT hardware specification.
- Support Level 3 technicians with hardware knowledge.
- Support Pre-Sales with new IoT hardware selection for sales opportunities and early-stage projects.
- Conduct research and development projects to support Bell's IoT strategy.
- Develop software elements in Bell's application suite and IoTaaS platform.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Technically curious with a can-do attitude and a passion for innovation.
- Self-driven and self-motivated to deliver assigned projects and seek out self-development with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Able to work as part of a team to achieve common objectives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proven hands-on experience with IoT components and systems for project development.
- Demonstrable experience with embedded hardware and IoT platforms & applications.
- A methodical approach to solving technical problems and effective communication of design thinking.
- Applied use of JavaScript or similar programming languages.
- Practical hands-on experience with wiring and building test bench solutions.
- Ability to conduct research and development to explore new technologies, platforms, and methodologies.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure components, particularly Quick Sight/PowerBI, and cloud-based applications for data management and analysis.
- Experience with Raspberry PI and/or Arduino development boards, including embedded development methodologies.
