About the Role:
Gandys International is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Retail Store Manager to join our team in Covent Garden. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our store, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall store operations, including sales, service, product presentation, profitability, and loss prevention.
- Contribute to and implement the Gandys retail strategy, feeding back insights from store to improve company performance and customer engagement.
- Implement visual merchandising plans each season, utilizing the store team to set up window displays and run marketing campaigns in store.
- Manage the overall store performance, including ownership of the store's performance, understanding and communicating the store targets and future plans with the team.
- Set and execute sales performance goals to increase profitability, and keep up to date with the trading calendar, owning the planning and preparation for any seasonal or promotional launch activity.
- Optimize conversion through strong visual merchandising and presentation of the store, and ensure the store is staffed efficiently through effective scheduling reflecting weekly trading patterns.
- Manage stock by liaising with logistics and merchandising departments to maximize sales and minimize discounts and residual stocks.
- Manage all costs of the store efficiently and communicate any maintenance needs back to the retail ops team.
- Manage all aspects of store security in accordance with company policy and procedure, including staff, cash, stock, IT, and buildings.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and instruct store team to upkeep the general tidiness and cleanliness in store.
- Continually upskill and develop your team, through clear criteria setting, ongoing coaching and feedback, and effective assignment of responsibility and ownership.
- Implement HR duties across the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, training, coaching, and development, managing schedules, appraisals, performance management, and offboarding.
- Assume total accountability for store Health & Safety by overseeing and upholding company procedures to always protect employees and customers against accidents and incidents.
Requirements:
- Proven successful experience as a Retail Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
- The ability to positively impact results in sales, payroll, and stock loss.
- You can confidently engage with Profit & Loss statements and retail analysis as tools to drive the store forward with educated and informed decision making.
- A passion for helping Gandys to grow our brand and build positive change for our Foundation.
