Postdoctoral Research Associate in Solid-State Li-S Batteries

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized researcher to work on the Faraday Institution funded SOLBAT project, reporting to Prof. Mauro Pasta. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Materials Science or Chemistry and a strong background in beyond Li-ion batteries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Characterize air and beam sensitive battery materials using in-situ and ex-situ transmission electron microscopy, in-situ and operando X-ray techniques, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
  • Manage own academic research and administrative activities, including writing for publication, presenting research proposals and results, and representing the research group at meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of research objectives and carry out appropriate research activities within a given timescale.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Materials Science or Chemistry.
  • Strong background in beyond Li-ion batteries.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work co-operatively with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time fixed-term post available until 31 March 2025. The post may be extended if the project's funding is extended.
