Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Janikin Energy. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in reviewing and accepting engineering queries related to the electrical scope across our Conventional Island/Balance of Plant (CI/BOP) and Nuclear Island buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to technical inquiries, non-conformances, change requests, and exemption requests from site contractors, ensuring alignment with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Nuclear Safety and Environmental Regulation requirements through rigorous oversight and challenge design decisions to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Coordinate support from external organizations to address technical issues and assess and address technical risks, ensuring they are managed effectively.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Engineering teams and report operationally to the assigned Engineering Lead, providing regular updates and escalating issues as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in electrical design, installation, and/or commissioning, particularly within the nuclear industry.
  • Multi-disciplinary technical knowledge applicable to the nuclear or construction/installation industries.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety Legislation, including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements.
  • Stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, especially within a site environment.
  • Proactive and independent work ethic, capable of managing tasks autonomously while effectively reporting on and escalating issues.
