About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join our software development team. The successful candidate will work closely with the architect and team on various projects, collaborating on design features, preparing and reviewing technical specifications, writing storyboards, coding in Java, and contributing to the design and implementation of software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and validate products, systems, and components in the CI/CD cycle of a re-platforming of the core product.
  • Work on new components and projects to drive the business forward.
  • Perform coding assignments that provide reusable, testable, and efficient code.
  • Integrate data storage solutions.
  • Implement security and data protection.
  • Implement microservices in AWS.
  • Plan multiple projects simultaneously and complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Define functional analysis of design specifications into clear product criteria.
  • Stand up services and environments in Azure and AWS.
  • Support creation and maintenance of process documentation associated with design and analysis.
  • Use tools to gather data on systems performance.
  • Define, plan, and actively engage in software development and evaluation.
  • Undertake special projects as required.
  • Quality control of own and team members' work through reviews.
  • Undertake continuous training and development.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
Requirements
  • Relevant Computer Science/technical degree preferred, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Extensive hands-on programming experience in Java.
  • Ability to understand legislative and regulatory demands on software development.
  • At least 5 years strong programming experience in Java.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and web frameworks.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
