We're seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to support our German corporate businesses, customer service, customer fulfillment, and transportation operations. You'll be the primary point of contact for dedicated HR teams, working on a broad range of individual and collective employment law-related issues. You'll provide day-to-day labor and employment law advice to management teams and be responsible for designing and rolling out trainings to non-legal teams.

This role involves direct contact with business owners and external parties. We're looking for candidates who are innovative, progressive, extremely hands-on, and customer-obsessed professionals. You'll need to be proactive and fast-moving when necessary to complete projects in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Advising and Supporting HR Teams: Provide expert advice on German labor and employment-related matters, including disciplinary proceedings, health and safety, performance management, and consultation.
  2. Training and Development: Train HR and Recruiting teams on new legislation, develop and implement forms and processes, and help simplify and automate processes.
  3. Strategic Advice: Advise businesses on strategic matters, including hiring and talent management strategy.
  4. Policy Development: Draft and implement employment policies and standard documentation in close cooperation with HR teams and stakeholders across the EU.
  5. Works Agreements: Review and draft works agreements with works councils.
  6. Legal and Compliance Programs: Proactively plan, advise, and implement legal and compliance programs and improvements to support and protect the business.
  7. Issue Resolution: Handle administration and resolution of issues arising in existing relationships as well as pre-litigation disputes.
  8. Employment Litigation Management: Manage employment litigation, including outside counsel management.
  9. Regulatory Support: Support businesses in dealing with relevant regulatory issues.
Requirements
  1. Fully Qualified Lawyer: Be a fully qualified lawyer in Germany with outstanding academic and legal qualifications.
  2. Experience: Have a minimum of 5 years post-qualified legal experience, with at least three years at a reputable law firm with a focus on employment law.
  3. Employment Law Expertise: Have experience in employment law-related matters, including collective employment and labor law, negotiation, and litigation.
  4. Business Acumen: Possess a high degree of independence, initiative, and decisiveness, with a desire to be challenged and think outside the box.
  5. Communication Skills: Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Language Skills: Have great English skills, including the ability to draft and negotiate contracts and legal reports.
  7. Results-Oriented: Be able to deliver results, both as an individual contributor and as a member of the European Legal team.
  8. Project Management: Have the capacity to lead projects and coordinate external advisors.
  9. Corporate Law Firm Experience: Have experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work.
