Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Caerphilly

Salary: £39,167 (basic) + 20% shift premium (for 3 rotating shifts) = £ 47,000.40 PA

Hours: Full time, permanent 3 rotating shifts (days: 6am - 2pm, nights: 10pm - 6am, afternoons: 2pm - 10pm)

Overview: The Recruitment Co. is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support operations in Caerphilly. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of equipment functionality and operational efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Execute planned preventative maintenance, ensuring timely scheduling of activities.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical support for all site operations.
  • Conduct maintenance on building facilities and overall site upkeep.
  • Contribute to the specification of new manufacturing machinery to enhance serviceability and maintenance.
  • Install production equipment, including necessary electrical and pneumatic services.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across various business sectors.
  • Offer guidance on installation and service requirements for production and non-production equipment.
  • Supervise contractors on-site as needed.
  • Achieve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Understand and align with company objectives and departmental goals.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels and collaborate within a team environment.
  • Maintain awareness of Health and Safety regulations and adhere to company policies.
  • Participate in lean initiatives and contribute to workgroups.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uphold housekeeping standards (5S).

Required Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 4 or HNC qualification preferred.
  • Electrical qualifications (18th Edition BS7671).
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Competent in MS Office and IT applications.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems (including pumps, valves, and fluid control).
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems (pipe fitting, gearboxes, shafts, bearings, pumps, fans, etc.).
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
