Position Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Caerphilly

Compensation: £39,167 (base salary) + 20% shift premium (for rotating shifts) = £47,000.40 annually

Working Hours: Full-time, permanent role with 3 rotating shifts (day: 6am - 2pm, night: 10pm - 6am, afternoon: 2pm - 10pm)

About The Recruitment Co.: We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a prominent organization located in Caerphilly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and manage the planning of these activities.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical breakdown support for all operations on-site.
  • Perform building and facility maintenance tasks as required.
  • Contribute to the specification of new manufacturing equipment to ensure reliability and ease of maintenance.
  • Oversee the installation of production machinery, including necessary electrical and pneumatic services.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across all business areas.
  • Offer guidance on installation and service requirements for all production and non-production equipment.
  • Supervise contractors working on-site as needed.
  • Achieve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Understand company objectives and departmental goals.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety policies and promote a safe working environment.
  • Participate in lean initiatives and workgroups.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uphold high housekeeping standards (5S).

Required Qualifications:

  • Preferably NVQ Level 4 or HNC qualification.
  • Electrical qualifications (18th Edition BS7671).
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Competent in MS Office and IT applications.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems (including pumps, valves, and fluid flow control).
  • Solid mechanical knowledge (including pipe fitting, gearboxes, shafts, bearings, pumps, and fans).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
