Our client is a renowned international private equity and infrastructure investment firm seeking an ESG Senior Associate to join its Private Equity team. The ideal candidate will support the ESG and Sustainability Director in various sustainability-related projects.
Job Responsibilities- Conduct due diligence on new investment opportunities, assessing the status quo, analyzing risks and opportunities, and developing key milestones for the ownership period.
- Support the design and delivery of training and team events related to ESG and sustainability.
- Prepare for the onboarding of new portfolio companies, including creating presentation materials, competitor benchmarking, and materiality assessments.
- Provide direct engagement with and support to portfolio companies as they implement sustainability initiatives.
- Assess portfolio company performance against the firm's ESG requirements and develop action plans to address improvement areas.
- Lead the process of collecting ESG data from portfolio companies on an annual basis.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the group to ensure a streamlined, aligned, and efficient approach to sustainability across functions.
- Prior experience in sustainability within industry or in a consultancy capacity, ideally having supported the implementation of ESG strategies, initiatives, and/or due diligence.
- Prior experience within or understanding of the financial services sector would be beneficial.
- Knowledge and understanding of common and topical ESG topics.
- A clear commercial focus, with the ability to be innovative and pragmatic.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
