Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity has emerged for an Advanced Speech and Language Therapy Specialist at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
This role is integral to the multidisciplinary team within the Family Centred Wellbeing Service, which was established to address the wellbeing needs of children and their families promptly. The service caters to primary and secondary school-aged children throughout North Ayrshire, including surrounding islands. In response to a growing number of referrals for children and young people with various neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, we seek a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist. You will collaborate closely with the team to enhance outcomes for these children and young people by:
- Developing and implementing training programs.
- Providing coaching and mentoring to empower families, Family Wellbeing Workers, and team members.
- Embedding strategies that enhance children's social communication and interaction skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess a recognized four-year degree in Speech and Language Therapy or an equivalent qualification, along with experience in a multidisciplinary team setting. Proven experience in delivering universal, targeted, and individualized interventions is essential.
Familiarity with improvement methodologies is crucial for demonstrating the effectiveness of innovative approaches. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage constructively with diverse individuals are required.
We provide regular support, supervision, and opportunities for skill enhancement.
Work Hours:
This position entails 22.5 hours per week.
Contract Type:
This role is offered on a fixed-term basis until a specified date.
Driving Requirements:
A valid UK driving license and car ownership are essential for this position.
