Role Responsibilities:

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Site Operations Manager to become part of the team at Galliford Try within our Environmental Division. The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects across various locations, ensuring that operations are conducted efficiently and safely. This role involves managing our Water Frameworks, focusing on both Waste and Water Treatment projects. As a Site Operations Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Daily oversight of construction activities on-site.
  • Effective coordination of project resources and personnel.
  • Ensuring compliance with design specifications for both temporary and permanent works.
  • Strategic planning of materials and equipment to align with project timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams on project planning and scheduling.
  • Participating in site meetings to facilitate effective project execution.
  • Implementing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and ensuring Permit to Work protocols are established prior to project commencement.
  • Maintaining clear communication with site teams and subcontractors.
  • Conducting site inductions and safety briefings for subcontractors.
  • Monitoring subcontractor performance to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and schedule standards.
  • Maintaining accurate site records and diaries.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills with site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Experience in managing construction activities in accordance with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in delivering safety briefings and conducting toolbox talks.
  • Able to interpret and analyze design documentation.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry experience.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • Appropriate CSCS card.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) certification.
  • First Aid certification (desirable).
  • Qualification in a relevant field (desirable).
