The South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust is pleased to invite applications for the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist within our dedicated Assessment and Treatment Unit. We are particularly interested in candidates who are newly qualified and seeking a Preceptorship opportunity.
This specialized unit comprises 8 beds and is designed to deliver comprehensive assessments, tailored interventions, and therapeutic support for adults diagnosed with learning disabilities. Our approach is centered around the individual, ensuring that care is personalized to meet the unique needs of each client. We operate within frameworks of Positive Behavioral Support and trauma-informed care, focusing on recovery and reintegration into the community.
As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, and healthcare assistants, all committed to providing high-quality, person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
In this Band 5 role, you will:
- Deliver exceptional nursing care on the unit, serving as a role model for junior staff.
- Assume charge of the ward as needed, in accordance with competency assessments, under the guidance of senior nursing staff.
- Provide evidence-based nursing advice and support to service users within a collaborative environment.
- Oversee daily operations of the ward in the absence of senior clinical practitioners, including staff supervision and shift management.
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and ensure the implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions.
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with local and national policies that govern service provision for individuals with learning disabilities.
