Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for processing payment requests, liaising with suppliers, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payment requests to ensure timely and accurate payment to suppliers
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve payment queries and discrepancies
  • Post payments and financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reconcile supplier statements and credit control accounts
  • Manage aged ledger items and maintain accurate financial records
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and project work
  • Maintain filing systems and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Assist with internal billing queries and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Review monthly transactions and ensure accuracy in line with month-end reporting
  • Maintain financial allocations between divisions and ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Deal with queries related to overdue invoices and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Prepare and distribute internal reports to stakeholders
  • Produce and distribute remittance advices to suppliers
  • Update and maintain supplier contact and master data records

Requirements

  • Full right-to-work in the UK
  • Prior experience in accounts payable within a UK finance function
  • Ability to understand and process financial data
