About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Practitioner to join our Primary Care Network in Barnsley. As a GP, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our team to deliver excellent healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, queries, home visits, reviewing and signing repeat and acute prescriptions, reviewing test results and patient correspondences, medical reports, referral letters NHS/private in a timely manner
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from Federation team members
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
  • Collecting data for audit purposes
  • Working towards all QOF/LES and DES targets
  • Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding handwritten prescriptions wherever possible)
  • Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
  • In general, undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
