Job Description: Manufacturing Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Technician to join our team in Glasgow. In this role, you will play a vital part in the production of custom-engineered bearings for a range of industries, including oil & gas, power generation, marine, and industrial.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately interpret blueprints and process sheets to determine machining requirements.
  • Execute lean manufacturing principles throughout the production process, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct thorough quality inspections on materials and finished components, adhering to strict tolerances.
  • Prepare final components for shipment by cleaning, oiling, and packaging them according to specifications.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes and the ability to read technical drawings.
  • Proven experience in fabrication, machining, and assembly within a precision engineering setting.
  • Familiarity with 'Hot Work' procedures and proficiency in using precision inspection equipment.
  • Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes, as well as safe manual handling practices.
