Job Title: Manufacturing Technician

Thales is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join our Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) department in Glasgow. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing complex manufacturing operations, assembling products to a high quality standard, and ensuring adherence to company processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex manufacturing operations in accordance with engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Assemble products to a high quality standard, including mechanical and optical components.
  • Align opto-mechanical systems and complete functional testing as per production documentation.
  • Perform self-assessment of products and escalate technical blockers and issues to relevant Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Adhere to company processes and ensure quality non-conformances are logged and escalated.
  • Contribute to diagnostics and root cause analysis, and support continuous improvement actions.
Requirements:
  • Experience building mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and diagrams.
  • Clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Eligibility to obtain full SC clearance.
