We invite you to #JOINTHEREBELLION

For over three decades, we have been at the forefront of creating exceptional video games across our various studios. However, Rebellion is not solely about gaming; we also have our own film and motion capture studio, produce board games, publish literature, and through 2000AD, offer comics and graphic novels, including the iconic Judge Dredd.

Our operations span multiple locations in the UK, and we embrace a hybrid work model for this role, allowing flexibility in both working hours and the frequency of onsite presence. We value work-life balance and are open to discussing how we can accommodate your preferences.

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Lead Software Engineer to become a vital part of our enthusiastic automation team.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in developing automated testing software and constructing robust, maintainable systems. You will collaborate closely with our in-house engine team, crafting testing tools and automation solutions to ensure our products not only meet but exceed performance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and enhance automated testing solutions for gaming projects and our proprietary engine.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing tools developed in Python and C++.
  • Produce high-quality, adaptable, and maintainable code.
  • Analyze, communicate, and interpret testing outcomes.
  • Refine continuous integration processes (e.g., optimizing the use of Jenkins).
  • Investigate new tools, techniques, and processes to benefit Rebellion and our games.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven professional experience with C++.
  • Strong proficiency in continuous integration platforms such as Jenkins.
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python.
  • Experience with source control systems such as Perforce is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within larger, multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience in the gaming industry is a plus but not mandatory.

Benefits:

We provide a comprehensive benefits package to our team, including:

  • 22 days of annual leave plus a Christmas closure (typically 4 days) and bank holidays (increasing with service at 5 years – one additional day each year until reaching 31 days).
  • Private Medical Insurance and a healthcare cash plan, covering dental and vision.
  • Life Assurance, Income Protection, and Critical Illness Cover.
  • Enhanced Family Leave.
  • Interest-Free, Tax-Free loans.
  • Enhanced Pension Scheme.
  • Employee Assistance Program offering a range of Mental Health and Wellbeing Support.
  • And much more, including a variety of discounts, perks, and social events.
