Key Responsibilities

In light of Evelyn Partners' expansion into the North East, our audit business has experienced substantial growth, serving some of the most prominent businesses and entrepreneurs in the UK. This growth presents excellent opportunities to enhance our team across various levels. We are looking for a skilled individual to join our Audit team in Newcastle.

As an Assistant Audit Manager within the Newcastle team, your primary responsibilities will include the planning, execution, and completion of the audit process for each assignment.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

Client Engagement

Regularly communicate with clients to confirm progress, address challenges, and manage expectations. Build and maintain relationships with key client contacts. Identify and communicate opportunities for Evelyn Partners based on the work performed.

Team Leadership

Facilitate and conduct training for junior staff members. Plan, delegate, monitor, and review the work of junior staff. Complete performance assessments for the audit team. Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

Technical Responsibilities

Assist in the planning of audits and accounting assignments. Conduct work in accordance with Evelyn Partners' audit and assignment protocols. Ensure all areas of work are completed, with any exceptions discussed with the manager. Prepare draft accounts/reports and completion memos (including identification of control weaknesses or areas for improvement) for managerial review. Understand and appreciate the key commercial aspects of the client's business.

Organizational Duties

Provide regular updates to the manager regarding progress. Identify and discuss issues with the manager, agreeing on and executing appropriate actions. Ensure deadlines are consistently met. Manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Professional Development

Participate in training courses. Engage in technical reading. Attend client meetings.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, you should possess:

ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent. Proven audit and accounting experience within a professional services environment. Strong communication skills, both internally and with clients. Demonstrated experience in supervising others and delegating tasks. Proven ability to organize oneself and others to manage multiple assignments effectively.
