About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at Optamor. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of electrical systems for our cutting-edge products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Interface Definition: Collaborate with system designers to define electrical interfaces with various function groups.
  • Commodity Management: Manage commodity attributes such as quality, costs, timing, and weight to ensure delivery within budget.
  • Supplier Liaison: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of electrical components and systems.
  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including low-voltage wiring, fusing systems, component packaging, and electrical power distribution.
  • System Reviews and Validation: Participate in system reviews and validation activities to ensure electrical systems meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve electrical system issues through the company's robust 8D process.
  • Change Control Management: Manage harness changes and ensure compliance with design release and supplier requirements.
  • DFMEA and RQA: Lead DFMEA and Routing Quality Assessment (RQA) activities to ensure electrical systems meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Manage relationships with Tier 1 suppliers and coordinate with procurement, logistics, and quality teams.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to manufacturing and service departments on electrical system design and development.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical system design and development, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, ECUs, and other electrically wired components; experience with design for good electrical and EMC performance; and proficiency in CATIA V5 or V6 or lightweight file viewers.
  • Desirable: Experience with circuit design, wiring/fusing systems, and electrical packaging; knowledge of hybrid and full-electric electrical vehicle architectures and wiring systems; and experience with harness testing and validation processes.
