SEND Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a stable school in Southwark, London. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to primary students with ADHD, Autism, and Complex Needs
  • Assist with personal care and moving and handling when necessary
  • Ensure school rules are adhered to and promote a positive learning environment
  • Work with students of mixed abilities, including those with SEND
  • Offer emotional support and empathy to children requiring assistance
  • Report health and safety issues to the maintenance team
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and children about concerns or issues
  • Risk assess the environment and respond accordingly
  • Observe behavior, intervene when necessary, and report safeguarding issues

Requirements:
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure or overseas Police clearances (if applicable)
  • Education/nursery/care experience
