SEND Teaching Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in Southwark, London. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a primary and secondary setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with ADHD, Autism, and Complex Needs
  • Provide 1:1 support to primary students
  • Provide Personal Care and assist with Moving & Handling when necessary
  • Ensure school rules are adhered to
  • Work with primary and secondary students with mixed abilities, including SEND
  • Offer support and empathy to children requiring assistance
  • Report health and safety issues on-site to the maintenance team to resolve
  • Communicate effectively with teachers/children about any concerns or issues
  • Risk assess the environment and respond accordingly
  • Observe behavior, intervene, and address when necessary, reporting any safeguarding issues through the correct channels

Requirements:
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, or overseas Police clearances (if applicable)
  • Education/nursery/care experience
