Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Microwave Electronics Engineer to join our team at Leonardo. As a key member of our Antenna Core Delivery Team, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and testing of microwave printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies for various defense and space projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop microwave PCB assemblies by analyzing system requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct concept feasibility studies and evaluate design alternatives to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct detailed simulations and modeling to verify the performance of your microwave circuit designs.
  • Test and troubleshoot your microwave designs to identify and resolve any issues or inefficiencies.
  • Generate technical reports and documentation to communicate design methodologies, analyses, and test results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate your microwave assembly into our electronically scanned antenna/radar products.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in microwave technologies and incorporate new methodologies into our design processes.
  • Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components and materials.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in microwave PCB design, preferably in frequencies up to or above X-Band.
  • Proficiency in using CAD tools for microwave design, such as Keysight ADS, Microwave Office, or CST Microwave Studio.
  • Strong knowledge of microwave components and devices, such as amplifiers, attenuators, limiters, circulators, switches, etc.
  • Experience using microwave test equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Solid understanding of electromagnetic field theory and transmission line theory.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
