About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to join our team as an Emergency Call Handler. As a key member of our 24/7 contact centre, you will provide critical support to individuals affected by sexual assault and rape, working closely with professionals such as Police and Social Services to arrange forensic examinations at our Sexual Assault Referral Centres.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a strong understanding of telephone triage and customer service principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide empathetic and confidential support to individuals in crisis
  • Work collaboratively with professionals to arrange forensic examinations and provide holistic support
  • Utilize effective communication skills to de-escalate situations and provide guidance
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage conflicting demands
  • Strong understanding of telephone triage and customer service principles
  • Experience working in a call centre or customer-facing role
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Basic IT skills and proficiency in using software applications
