About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Emergency Call Handler to join our 24/7 contact centre team in Braintree. As a key member of our team, you will provide holistic support to individuals affected by sexual assault and rape, working closely with professionals such as Police and Social Services to arrange forensic examinations at our Sexual Assault Referral Centres.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires excellent telephone and customer service skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work well under pressure. If you have a strong understanding of telephone triage and previous experience as a Call Handler, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals affected by sexual assault and rape
  • Work closely with professionals to arrange forensic examinations and provide holistic support
  • Manage multiple calls and tasks simultaneously, prioritizing workload and meeting performance targets
  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant policies, procedures, and best practices
Requirements
  • Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills
  • Strong understanding of telephone triage and previous experience as a Call Handler
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT literate and able to use relevant software systems
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information
  • Knowledge of health and safety issues and ability to prioritize workload
