About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Specialist to join our team at the City of York Council. As a Public Health Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing health improvement initiatives that promote the health and wellbeing of our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health improvement initiatives that address the needs of our community
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify and address health inequalities
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform health improvement strategies
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local health and community organizations
  • Provide technical assistance and support to colleagues and partners

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Public Health Specialist who has a strong understanding of health improvement principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as public health, health promotion, or a related field
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing health improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
