About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Peer Support Worker. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing one-to-one support to service users, helping them to achieve their personal goals and maintain their mental wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to service users, setting personal goals and developing strategies to maintain mental wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with the Peer Support Team to provide a unique perspective and specialist resource to service users
  • Maintain confidential records and utilize electronic records systems to plan and implement care packages
  • Develop and review care plans, including individual care plans, to ensure effective support and outcomes
Requirements
  • Lived experience of mental health challenges
  • Experience of accessing mental health services
  • Experience of being in a supportive and enabling role
  • General understanding of mental health issues and services available to support them
  • Understanding of confidentiality and ability to work within organizational policies and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Professional, enthusiastic, and engaging, with a positive attitude and good listening skills
  • Enhanced DBS with Children & Adults Barred lists (or willingness to obtain)

Our service was co-developed back in 2015 by VoiceAbility and people who use the services. This is now part of Reach Out Camden, which is passionate about working together with Camden residents to design and deliver services that improve their mental health and enable people to live healthy and fulfilling lives in a place where they feel connected to their community and have the right opportunities to thrive.
