Position Overview: Corus Consultancy is seeking a dedicated Residential Support Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing assistance to individuals facing mental health challenges and other complex needs.

Work Schedule: The successful candidate will work a total of 37.5 hours per week, on a rotating schedule that includes early and late shifts, with a requirement to work every other weekend.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of 23 primary clients, conducting thorough needs and risk assessments.
  • Assist clients in setting long-term aspirations and short-term objectives to achieve these goals.
  • Develop support and safety plans for individuals who may be hesitant to engage with services.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify activities that promote independence and personal growth.
  • Support clients in transitioning to work, education, or training by facilitating access to relevant opportunities.
  • Conduct regular room and facility inspections, ensuring that any issues are promptly reported and resolved.
  • Contribute to the financial sustainability of the project by minimizing void loss and arrears.
  • Ensure clients maximize their income by helping them access appropriate benefits.
  • Monitor rent accounts and proactively address any arrears with clients.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health issues and complex needs.
  • Proven key working experience, particularly with clients who have faced challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of the legal framework governing mental health services.
  • Familiarity with the Recovery Model and the ability to motivate clients towards independence.
  • Experience collaborating with external stakeholders, especially in community mental health and substance use services.
  • Ability to create and implement SMART action plans through comprehensive risk and needs assessments.
  • Understanding of Housing Management principles in a residential context.
  • Numeracy skills sufficient for budgeting, calculating benefits, and monitoring rent payments.
