Lead DevOps Engineer

Head Resourcing is partnering with a leading retail bank to find a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their team in London.
This hybrid role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical work, coaching and mentoring peers, and tackling complex challenges.
As a team lead, you will guide and mentor engineers, setting an example through hands-on contributions in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of engineers, guiding and mentoring them in DevOps and SRE.
- Collaborate on building resilient, distributed systems on public cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Azure and GCP.
- Drive architectural simplicity and operational excellence through automation and scaling cloud services.
- Author and maintain Helm charts, leveraging Helmfile to manage deployments.
- Expertise with CI/CD tools, including Azure DevOps, Terraform, and ARM Templates.
- Experience in Chaos Engineering, implementing resiliency strategies, and leading disaster recovery planning.
- Hands-on experience managing network layers (L3-L7), DNS, and public key infrastructure (PKI).
- A seasoned professional with a strong background in SRE or DevOps.
- Proficiency in at least two programming or scripting languages, such as Python, Java, Bash, Go, or PowerShell.
- Strong expertise in DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub, SonarQube, Nexus, and Git.
