About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Textiles Designer to join our team at NEXT. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for building on our Textile vision and driving the development of our product range.

Key Responsibilities

  • Category management: Textiles (Rugs, Cushions, Bedding etc), Colour Palette (across departments), Upholstery Fabrics.
  • Pulling together briefs and direction trend boards to steer the vision of the brand and presenting these to the Head of Design and Head of Brand.
  • Working closely with the Buying team to design products that fit into core and trend, ensuring the option count target is achieved.
  • Using your technical experience to stretch design and capabilities with our factories.
  • Strong and effective communication, building and maintaining relationships with the MADE brand and NEXT teams.
  • Preparing decks and presenting regularly in meetings confidently and collaboratively.
  • Working closely with our Production Lead to drive your categories to launch with success.
  • Planning your own travel to factories and inspiration locations.
  • Managing external projects such as Collaborations and Partnerships.
  • Working in line with the agreed critical path to ensure the product launches on time.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual who is passionate about the NEXT brand and has a strong understanding of manufacturing techniques and materials. You will be an experienced designer in textile categories with a strong creative vision and autonomy to make a difference.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in trends, interiors, and identifying new opportunities.
  • Prioritizing and balancing multiple projects while adapting to the dynamic demands of a commercial environment.
  • Confidently presenting to senior leadership and communicating effectively both internally and externally.
