About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Activity Coordinator to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering a range of social, creative, and therapeutic activities for older adults with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a programme of activities that promote social inclusion, engagement, and recovery for service users.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, nurses, and psychiatrists, to ensure a comprehensive and person-centered approach to care.
  • Facilitate groups and individual activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities, including art, craft, music, exercise, and reminiscence.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service users, their families, and carers to ensure a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to activity coordination and service user engagement.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of working in a mental health setting, preferably with older adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Knowledge of recovery principles and their application to service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of service users and the demands of the ward.
  • Good understanding of the needs of individuals affected by mental health issues and the ability to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
