Join Northumberland National Park Authority as a key member of our team, working on a fixed-term basis until 31/3/25. Based at Hexham, Northumberland, with some home working, this role offers a unique opportunity to build climate change resilience and support farmers and landowners in the region.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead our Farming in Protected Landscapes programme. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with farmers and landowners to access funding streams, build climate change and Brexit resilience, and create networks to support each other. You will also be responsible for managing and allocating programme funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective strategies to support farmers and landowners in accessing funding streams and building climate change resilience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, landowners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective programme delivery.
- Manage and allocate programme funding, ensuring effective use of resources and achieving programme objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement programme policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in programme management, with a focus on agricultural land management and environmental resilience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with farmers, landowners, and other stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of agricultural and forestry land management policy and grant schemes, issues, and techniques to achieve environmental improvement and habitat connectivity.
- Ability to influence partners and land managers to achieve effective programme delivery and good working relationships.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of £35,745 per annum, 37 hours per week, and a fixed-term contract until 31/3/25. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a unique and challenging programme, making a real difference to the environment and the community.
