  • Effectively communicating with patients and their families to assess needs and provide necessary support and information.
  • Ensuring all patients receive comprehensive written and verbal information regarding their care.
  • Participating in relevant network meetings and collaborating with allied health professionals as needed.
  • Requesting and interpreting diagnostic investigations, including imaging and laboratory tests.
  • Initiating referrals to secondary care when appropriate.
  • Providing mentorship and support to junior staff involved in the consultant-led, nurse-delivered faster diagnosis pathway.
  • Conducting nurse-led clinics, performing thorough medical histories and clinical examinations, and making treatment recommendations.
  • Engaging in specialist nurse forums at various levels to promote best practices.
  • Coordinating with consultants and other team members to ensure a cohesive specialist service.

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Registration with either the NMC or HCPC.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Completion of an advanced physical assessment course.
  • Qualification in prescribing.
