Job Title: Senior Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Neurodevelopmental Pathway team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing specialist assessments and nursing interventions to patients within a care group, participating in the review of clinical policies and guidelines relevant to the area, and supporting and implementing changes to practice.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health nursing, with a degree/diploma level supplemented by specialist qualification, training, experience, and courses to masters level equivalent relevant to the care group. They will also have evidence of post-registration training in relevant service areas and be able to manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist assessments and nursing interventions to patients within a care group
  • Participate in the review of clinical policies and guidelines relevant to the area
  • Support and implement changes to practice
  • Liaise with other organisations and professionals to promote communication and good practice
  • Undertake audit activity and supervision to other staff in the service area/care group
Person Specification:
  • Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health/LD/adult) appropriate to the job role
  • Degree/diploma level supplemented by specialist qualification, training, experience, courses to masters level equivalent relevant to the care group
  • Evidence of post-registration training in relevant service areas
  • Able to manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health needs
