Job Description

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cardiology Specialist Registrar to join our team as an Interventional Cardiology Fellow. This is an exciting opportunity for a trainee to gain comprehensive training in advanced intervention and develop their skills in coronary and structural intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the direct supervision of experienced interventional cardiologists to gain broad exposure to complex cardiac interventions.
  • Undertake procedures in the lab, with a minimum of 4-6 sessions per week.
  • Participate in 1 outpatient clinic per week.
  • Have the opportunity to join the on-call rota, although this is not mandatory.
Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • GMC registration.
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Evidence of higher specialist training in cardiology.
  • Clear, fluent written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Experience in medical audit.
  • Understanding of the place of research.
Working Environment

The post is based at the Glenfield Hospital, a modern tertiary cardiac centre with state-of-the-art facilities, including 4 cardiac theatres, 5 catheter laboratories, and advanced imaging facilities.
