Maintenance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a well-established Manufacturing Plant in Wretham, Thetford, Norfolk. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the whole site, including the process plant and equipment, and general infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out PPM, fault-find and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and low voltage electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Site Manager, operations teams and contractors to ensure day-to-day maintenance and repairs are completed effectively and safely.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the facility and review and continuously improve maintenance systems to ensure they are fit for purpose and comply with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality regulations.
  • Provide guidance and training to assist operators with self-sufficiency in routine reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Review and continuous development of maintenance plans by determining the most effective strategies for each piece of equipment as knowledge is built.
Requirements:
  • Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Fault finding and repairs of low voltage electrical equipment.
  • Extensive experience within a maintenance environment with the ability to fault find and repair mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Team player with the ability to educate others in the importance of plant and equipment maintenance within a demanding production environment.
  • Ability to review and improve systems and processes and adapt schedules and routines as experience is gained in the plant and process.
  • Must have a flexible approach to work and be contactable out of hours.
  • Knowledge of waste industry / environmental legislation.
  • Hold appropriate mobile plant operating certificates. Counterbalance FLT. Front End Loader.
