About the Role

We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team at Matt Burton. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our vehicle maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on heavy goods vehicles
  • Perform welding and metalworking tasks as required
  • Operate machine tools and equipment to maintain and repair vehicles
  • Manage parts orders and store inventories to optimize efficiency
  • Accurately record job completion times and details for quality control and reporting purposes
  • Inspect and repair workshop equipment to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the Workshop Supervisor to support the team
Requirements
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance or equivalent, or qualified by experience
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong communication style
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and hardworking with a strong attention to detail
  • Competent in all aspects of repair and servicing, with a focus on heavy goods vehicles
