The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking a Strategic Investment Program Lead to spearhead initiatives within our Investment Zone.
This role is crucial for fostering economic advancement and development throughout the South Yorkshire area.
Understanding the Investment Zone
We have collaborated with the Government to formulate a detailed strategic framework for the South Yorkshire Investment Zone initiative, which considers the region's distinct advantages, prospects, and challenges.
Targeting the Advanced Manufacturing sector, with an initial funding allocation of £80 million over five years, now increased to £160 million over a decade, the Strategic Investment Program Lead will identify investment prospects that can stimulate economic growth and job creation across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all activities related to the Investment Zone, including the assessment of investment proposals, marketing strategies, and stakeholder engagement.
Required Skills and Expertise
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of motivating teams during challenging times and significant transitions.
- Extensive experience in senior roles as a visionary or technical lead concerning investment strategies, preferably within a local government context.
- The ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, fostering partnerships with educational institutions, and excelling in relationship-building and collaboration.
- A solid background in successful leadership within economic development roles.
