We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at Alan Baxter Partnership in Poole, Dorset. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing technical design expertise on a range of building projects across various sectors, including educational, residential, and commercial.
Key Responsibilities- Design Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and contractors to deliver high-quality design solutions.
- Technical Design: Produce technical design information, including drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports.
- Client Liaison: Effectively communicate with clients, local authorities, and other design team members to ensure project success.
- Project Management: Manage projects from concept to completion, including financial control and project coordination.
- Bid Preparation: Assist in the preparation of bids and fee proposals to secure new projects.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior staff to develop their technical skills and knowledge.
- Business Development: Develop business relationships with new and existing clients to drive growth and revenue.
- Chartered Engineer: Preferably Chartered Engineer (or Associate/Incorporated Engineer) or a minimum 5 years relevant experience and working towards professional status.
- Leadership Experience: Experience in leading and managing small teams, delegating, and supervising work of team members.
- Client Liaison: Experience in liaising with clients, associated professionals, and other disciplines team members on all relevant aspects of projects.
- Design Expertise: Experience in designing in all primary construction materials, including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
- Structural Appraisals: Experience in carrying out structural appraisals on buildings and producing written reports.
- Analysis and Media: Competent in using various methods of analysis and media, including traditional hand calculations and computer analysis using proprietary software.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with Eurocodes, British Standards, and specifications.
- Construction Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of construction techniques, construction plant and machinery, temporary support systems, construction programming, and sequencing.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- CDM Regulations: Good understanding of the CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Site Experience: Able to assist during the construction stage, including site inspections.
- Annual Bonus: Annual performance-related bonus.
