About Jee

Jee is a leading independent multi-discipline subsea engineering and training company operating in the global renewables sector, the energy transition sector, and the traditional oil and gas sector. We have been providing subsea engineering and training services since 1988. Our team of experienced staff and contract engineers is based in Aberdeen and Tonbridge.

Our Services

We cover subsea cables on offshore wind farms, providing design, integrity management, and monitoring services. Our oil and gas and energy transition engineering services cover the whole life-of-field, from front-end appraisal and select studies, through FEED and detailed design, through to integrity management, operations support, and decommissioning. Our training division delivers world-renowned technical courses both virtually and on site.

Employee Ownership

Ownership of the company was recently transferred to its staff via an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). The trust is currently repaying vendor loans for several years to come, and in due course, dividends will be distributed back to the staff.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Work

  • Prepare and check engineering calculations and assessments, utilizing Excel and Mathcad as necessary.
  • Write and check professional and concise reports, specifications, and procedures.
  • Prepare and give presentations to clients on work done.
  • Check and interpret FE analysis (typically Abaqus CAE and coded input decks).
  • Work within our Quality Management System (QMS), suggesting improvements, and participate in quality audits.
  • Act as a consultant at client offices (where required).
  • Write and update Jee technical courses.
  • Deliver courses on specialist areas.

Supervision and Leadership

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams on more than one project at a time.
  • Instruct, supervise, and provide feedback to junior engineers when required.
  • Line manage and perform IMechE mentoring (as required).

Sales and Account Management

  • Support the sales and leadership team as required to deliver annual budgets. This will include business development and proposal writing.
  • Act as a client technical contact/representative for medium to large-size clients.
  • Cross-sell Jee services and be a Jee champion inside and outside of the office.

Project Management

  • Responsible for planning and implementing projects of strategic importance to Jee.
  • Interfacing with the project controller to ensure accurate reporting and invoicing.
  • Review client contracts at a basic level.
  • Select subcontractors and monitor progress for on-time delivery.
  • Integrate work/product from subcontractors into Jee delivery.
  • Reporting and progress assessment.
  • Client interface for data, progress, and queries.
