Director of Chemistry Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Chemistry to lead our Chemistry Department at Smithers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the department's operations, providing leadership to our chemists, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, with experience in managing teams and leading projects. You will be responsible for developing and implementing departmental strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Chemistry Department's operations, including staff supervision and performance management
  • Develop and implement departmental strategies to achieve business objectives
  • Manage budgets and ensure financial performance
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including GLP
  • Lead projects and teams to deliver high-quality services to clients
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in chemistry, with a minimum of a BSc/MSc or equivalent
  • Experience in managing teams and leading projects
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and implement departmental strategies
  • Financial acumen and budget management skills
