Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Chemistry to lead our Chemistry Department at Smithers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the department's operations, providing leadership to our ResChem Analytical Limited team, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Chemistry Department's day-to-day operations, including staff supervision and performance management.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the ResChem Analytical Limited team, ensuring they meet their objectives and deliver high-quality results.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including GLP, and maintain a strong quality assurance culture within the department.
- Develop and implement administrative procedures to ensure data quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve business objectives and drive process improvements.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or a related field, with relevant practical experience in a GLP environment.
- Proven leadership and management experience, with a track record of delivering scientific services and managing a P&L.
- Excellent problem-solving, IT, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Previous involvement in leading process improvements and driving business growth.
