About the Company:

The Upstream segment encompasses the exploration and production of crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. The Downstream segment is dedicated to refining, logistics, power generation, and the marketing of petroleum and petrochemical products. Position Overview:
We are looking for a Petroleum Economics Specialist to become a part of our Upstream Development Strategy & Reserves Department. This department is responsible for managing one of the largest portfolios of oil and gas fields globally. The role involves providing high-level technical support across a wide range of hydrocarbon exploration and production activities, including economic optimization and innovative development solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert guidance on operational challenges.
  • Define design criteria and relevant operating parameters for new oil and gas projects.
  • Engage in technical project reviews and evaluate proposals for operational modifications to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct economic assessments and cost analyses to explore alternative strategies.
  • Provide insights on upstream investment prospects.
  • Perform impairment evaluations on upstream assets.
  • Oversee field portfolio management and project ranking.
  • Lead the creation and updates of guidelines for upstream economic evaluations.
  • Facilitate the professional development of junior staff through structured programs.
  • Represent the organization at external technical conferences and forums.

Qualifications:

  • Relocation Requirement: This position necessitates the candidate to permanently relocate.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related fields; advanced degrees in Business, Petroleum Economics, Finance, or similar disciplines are highly advantageous.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in reputable oil and gas consulting or E&P companies, specializing in technical disciplines such as Reservoir Characterization, Petroleum Development, Business Development Planning, and Economic Evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of geology, geophysics, drilling operations, and production methodologies.
  • Experience in large organizations with diverse reservoir portfolios or broad experience in smaller firms.
  • Expertise in oil and gas reservoir development and depletion strategies.
  • Proficient in investment decision analysis, including risk assessment and strategic long-term production planning.
  • Extensive experience in presenting to executive management and large audiences.
